Kids Talk About the Abbotsford Flood

Anna reflects on the flood podcast and everything that has happened five years after the 2021 Abbotsford flooding.

Anna talks to Dr. Michelle Superle about helping kids work through their trauma through storytelling and art.

Tyler and Elianna talk about hosting a flood support hub on their dairy farm, where they helped people as they began to clean up and rebuild.

Jordyn describes helping with an animal rescue in the Sumas Prairie, where thousands of animals died during the flooding.

Emily and Mason talk about their experience being evacuated in the November 2021 flood in Abbotsford.

The atmospheric river in November 2021 caused intense rain and mountain snow to melt, leading to flooding in Abbotsford and several other B.C. communities. This podcast was created to tell the stories of kids who were impacted by the floods and to ask government officials to keep working and listening to help prevent another flood.
